Action Alert! Community Bike Ride THIS SUNDAY to Mark World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims
Join CMABS, America Walks, Lillördag and other community partners on a bike ride around town this Sunday!
This Sunday, November 16th, join Costa Mesa Alliance for Better Streets and District 5 Costa Mesa Council Member Arlis Reynolds for a community bike ride honoring World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
Every year, traffic violence impacts countless families right here in Costa Mesa. Our streets should connect us, not endanger us. This ride is our chance to come together as a community to remember those who have been injured or killed on our streets and to recommit to making our roads safer for everyone who walks, bikes, and rolls.
The event kicks off at Costa Mesa City Hall (77 Fair Drive) with mingling at 1:30 PM, a welcome at 2:00 PM, and wheels rolling at 2:30 PM. We expect there to be a short route and a long route, with the longer ride logging about 10-12 miles at an easy pace. And no matter how you decide to participate, it's a great way to spend an afternoon: you’ll meet neighbors who care about street safety and show that Costa Mesa is ready for safer, more welcoming streets.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP here. Note also that that all riders will need to sign a waiver, which can either be found here or linked in the RSVP page.
At the moment the ride is rain or shine, but stay tuned for updates as we get a better sense of the weather this weekend.
See you on Sunday!
This event will feature representatives from America Walks, Lillördag, Streets for All, and Reconnect.
That’s all for now!
