Friday Aug 28 at 3pm: public meeting on making streets better for biking and walking in Costa Mesa

This Friday August 28 at 3pm a coalition of local groups is hosting a virtual walk audit of three streets in Costa Mesa:

Newport Boulevard from 19th to 17th

West 19th from Harbor to Placentia

Fairview from Baker to Fair

The online meeting will divide attendees up into three groups, one for each street. Attendees will virtually walk/bike down the streets, making comments on the infrastructure / experience for people who are biking and walking, and then propose improvements that would help make the locations better for those outside of cars.

Results of this meeting will collated into a report that will be delivered to the City of Costa Mesa along with Caltrans. This is timely, as Caltrans is currently exploring if the community would support adding biking and walking improvements to Newport Blvd.

Attendance is free, and no pre-registration is required (the link above will take you directly to the Zoom meeting). If you have trouble joining, the Zoom meeting ID is 996 5918 3977.

The meeting will be conducted in English with a Spanish language translation occurring live during the meeting.
