The 2026 CMABS Candidate Questionnaire is up!
Should kids be able to travel around Costa Mesa—or at least their neighborhood—independently? What makes a street successful? And which part of the city should be improved first?
With the mayor’s office and three City Council seats on the ballot this November, the candidates’ answers offer a revealing look at their priorities—and some meaningful differences in their visions for the city we’ve all inherited.

We need bike mechanics!
Repair Café is coming to Costa Mesa in a few weeks, and people need help with their bikes. Are you good at fixing them?

CMABS also needs volunteer mechanics for our pop-up bike shops. We have the tools and repair stands—we just need more people who know how to use them.

Bike Classes!
Would you or your teen like to feel more confident riding a bike on Costa Mesa streets?
CMABS is developing a three-hour Saturday morning class for people who want to become more comfortable getting around by bike.
We’ll begin with a classroom session, practice riding skills in a parking lot, and finish with a group ride on city streets. The class will be supportive, practical and fun.
