Hey everyone! Happy summer! ☀️ 😎

The Fish Fry was Fun!

As usual, we had some great conversations with neighbors at the Fish Fry this year. To those of you who discovered this group while you were there, welcome! We’re thrilled that you’re “plugged in,” even in this small way. One of the primary reasons we exist is to keep the topic of safe, comfortable, and beautiful streets at the forefront of civic discourse, so we invite you to participate in our ongoing discussion and get involved whenever you can.

We send out an occasional newsletter, maintain a somewhat active Instagram account, and try to meet in person every other month or so. There is also the occasional project to help with, a council meeting worth speaking up at, or a letter to write. Learn more about us here!

Learn to Ride Classes

This is something we’ve been thinking about for a long time, and we’re finally starting to get more serious about it. While riding a bicycle is an elegantly simple activity, navigating an environment designed primarily for fast-moving car traffic can be a challenge. We want to help people feel empowered to get around safely and confidently on two wheels, and we think we may have come up with a good format.

Are you interested in something like this for your teen and/or yourself? Please let us know, and we’ll be sure to reach out as we get closer!

Zoning Matters!

The Fairview Developmental Center Specific Plan continues to take shape. While not directly related to safe and comfortable streets, the development of the site will likely impact our existing streets and neighborhoods in several ways. We encourage you to review the plan and tell the City what you think!

Family Friendly with Lillördag!

It’s been a while, but on May 30, Lillördag and CMABS hosted a family-friendly bike ride from TeWinkle Park to Randy’s Donuts 🍩 and back.

We had a great turnout and are thinking about making this a regular (monthly?) event. What do you think?

Check out the recap here.

That’s all for now. Stay safe!
