Hey everyone! Thanks to those who made it to the CMABS social at Green Cheek. If you missed it, maybe we’ll see you next time!

Love Costa Mesa Day was fun!

We had a blast adding some color to the former parking spaces near Sonora Elementary School. Keeping these spaces clear helps maintain safe visibility at intersections, which is especially important where kids regularly walk. Painting these spaces also helps make the street feel more human and welcoming.

Come ride with us!

Costa Mesa’s Bike Month continues this Sunday with a casual “Bikes & Art” community ride led by Arts Commissioner Ochoa. The ride will explore public art around the city while giving people a chance to experience Costa Mesa at a slower pace and from a different perspective.

Events like this are great reminders that biking isn’t just transportation or exercise—it can also be one of the best ways to actually experience the city itself.

Zoning Matters

The city is hosting another open house on Wednesday, June 3 from 6–8 p.m. at the Costa Mesa Senior Center Grand Hall to review draft zoning updates, objective design standards, Housing Element changes, and other planning documents that will shape the future of development in Costa Mesa.

These discussions may sound technical, but they have a huge impact on how our neighborhoods and corridors evolve: whether new development contributes to walkability, creates comfortable public spaces, supports local businesses, improves connectivity, and fits thoughtfully into the city over time.

Collab Ride with Lillördag!

Next Saturday, May 30th, Lillördag and CMABS will be hosting a family-friendly bike ride. We’ll go from TeWinkle Park to Randy’s Donuts 🍩 and back. Join us!

Meet at the parking lot on Junipero Dr. at 10am, we’ll roll at 10:30.

That’s all for now. Stay safe!
